PLEXUS HEALTH & FITNESS ASSESSMENT
At Plexus all of our relationships begin with a comprehensive one-on-one assessment. This allows us to access where you presently are and outline a path that will get you to where you want to be. Our assessment includes:
Past Health and History - This allows us to get to know what has happened to you up until this point in your life. Things like, past injuries, exercise history, lifestyle review, family history, medication and allergies are all important elements that are integral in enabling us to recommend the most effective health and fitness program.
Body Fat Testing - We can accurately measure the amount of fat and lean muscle mass. Body fat is a better indication of health and fitness than total body weight and it is medically recommended more than watching the numbers on the scale. By knowing your lean body mass we also can more accurately educate you about your caloric nutritional needs for optimum health.
Hand Dynamometer / Grip Strength - Hand Dynamometers are used to secure an index of general upper body strength, an index of right-vs.-left hand and grip strength as well as general balance within upper body strength. It is also used to develop an index of endurance and fatigue.
Blood Pressure and Resting Heart Rate - We use the standards for assessing blood pressure that have been established by the National Institute of Health. We look at Systolic and Diastolic ratios as well as check your resting pulse rate.
Muscular and Skeletal- We test the strength and flexibility of all the major joints within your body. This assessment also tests core strength and balance. From these findings we can design a program that can strengthen and tone the areas in need, thus helping you achieve a greater state of balance.
Cardiovascular - A graded sub maximal exercise test on a treadmill determines how good the heart is moving oxygen throughout the body under stress. This information allows us to design an exercise program based on your specific cardiovascular needs and exercise goals.
Nutrition- This final portion of the assessment begins with you telling us a typical day of your eating habits. We will then begin to educate you about nutrition and how eating properly can lead you to better health, lower body fat and greater energy levels. This information allows us to set realistic and obtainable goals within your overall health and fitness program
